About

At the Mercy of the Sea

Waking up every morning feeling lost. Going through the motions of the day without feeling in control.

Wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat… day after day after day. You’re stuck in the doldrums – no wind to push you forward.

Something has to change, but you can’t seem to put your finger on it. Everyone you talk to has well-intended advice, but none of it suits you.

Desperate to connect, open to any possibility to move you closer together, you spend your time diving into social media in search of “successful relationships” and trying to find direction.

You’ve Googled “relationship tips” and everything else you can think of, but none of the results seem to fit who you are.

No One-Size-Fits-All

No two sailing ships are created equal; neither are relationships.

Unfortunately, the easy fixes you find online are created to appeal to the masses.

When you start therapy with me, we work together to discover your unique needs. Your goals will be your goals. Your needs will be your needs.

When we put you in the captain’s chair with a customized plan to address your unique relationship challenges, you’ll discover endless possibilities.

Together, we’ll simplify your effort into actions that chart your course back to intimacy and love.

About Me

Breaking the Stigma

I still remember when I first went to therapy. I was in college – I thought I knew what love should or could be.

I struggled with the decision for months, telling myself repeatedly, “You’re the captain of the football team. You don’t need to see a therapist.” In my mind, I was tough – I could handle myself.

And I struggled to break my mental stigma that therapy was a sign of weakness.

Anchored to the Past

I had recently come out of a toxic relationship, and my ex kept me in limbo – using my love as an anchor when she needed me.

I tried getting advice from close friends and looking for relationship advice online, but nothing ever seemed to hit home for me.

Charting a New Course

It wasn’t until I met John that I knew there was hope. Offering a compassionate space for me to let it all out – John helped me uncover what I truly needed and wanted.

He gave me tangible goals and a direction that I could lean on when my emotions threatened to overcome me.

In many ways, John shaped the rest of my life.

Smooth Sailing for Me

After emerging on the other side, I knew I wanted to help couples experiencing difficulties find their path to a healthy and loving relationship.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University and am now a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, where I practice in St. Louis and the surrounding counties.

Before starting my private practice, I worked at a nonprofit agency where I gained incredible experience helping countless clients from all walks of life.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy doing small woodworking projects or watching movies with my family. You can catch me going on day adventures with my wife and son or hiking with my two dogs.

And for you…

No two relationships are the same, and you deserve someone who will listen with a compassionate heart.

Someone who will create a safe environment so you can share your genuine concerns and needs.

A therapist who will work with you to bring your relationship back to shared dreams and a thriving friendship.

This is precisely what you can expect from making this journey with me.
